Why Children Should Report Maltreatment by Their Parents
Maltreatment of children by their own parents is an act that the authorities and the law should pay more attention to. Children, the future of a country, are one of the most important factors to have peace in a country, so we must begin putting an end to maltreatment. It is a logical belief that violence begins in our homes, so let us start educating children to report their maltreatment to the authorities. The purpose of this paper is to persuade children why they should report maltreatment from their parents. Consequently, I will explain the three main reasons why children should report maltreatment such as abuse or beatings from their parents. Abuse causes physical and internal problems; once abuse begins, it continues; and finally, it has a long lasting effect on children even into adulthood.

The first reason why children should report maltreatment from their parents is about the internal and physical problems that the practice of that act could cause. Many times, parents beat their children because of different reasons, but none of those reasons are acceptable. Even though the consequences of their maltreatment may not be serious, children must always report it to the authorities. Otherwise, the abuse of many children will still go on. If you need medical attention at the time that you report maltreatment to the authorities, they will give it to you.

The second reason why children should report maltreatment from their parents is that if they don't, the abuse will likely continue. If parents know their children can report them for that kind of treatment, they will think twice before maltreating them again. Children must be sure about their rights, and use them when they need.

The third reason why children should report maltreatment from their parents is the effect that violence causes, especially in children. The idea is about what happens if children do not report that kind of treatment; they keep inside of themselves all the feelings that maltreatment leaves on them. Of course their minds will be involved with thoughts about violence, resentment, malice, and their acts will reflect these negative feelings in the future. The idea about having peace in a country depends on children is pretty related with the last statement. A country where children grow up on a peaceful environment will be more peaceful than a country where children grow up being maltreated. Although this relationship is not completely direct, there is a high correlation.

Finally, I will briefly repeat the three main reasons why children should report maltreatment from their parents. First, the physical and internal problems that maltreatment always leaves. Second, the reasoning of their parents about committing maltreatment once again. And the last one, the mental fixing about violence that maltreatment could cause on people, especially on children. Many times I have wondered about how people are able to do so much damage. I believe children, who are the future of the country, should report maltreatment by their parents.
